Devotional for Girls

Hello Girls! Welcome to our daily devotional. We hope this encourages you and brings you closer to God.

Let me first tell you about the format of our daily devotionals.

Each morning, in the APP and on our blog- we will post a devotional. It will contain an introduction, scripture, explanation and practical application. We will always close it out with a prayer and some days, we will add in a suggest song for you to listen to.

We believe that these 4 ingredients make for a good day. Who doesn't want to have a good day.

Music that centers you and draws you closer to God.
Reading your Bible (Read your own Bible or use our in APP Bible)
Listening to God (Remove distractions and be intentional about listening to God)
Talking to God (Share your heart, your joys and your concerns)

We also encourage you to journal and to talk to others about what you are learning.

Have you ever read a magazine, blog or post online and felt like you could never be that pretty or charming? Do you get discouraged when comparing yourself to other girls?

In Proverbs, chapter 31, verse 30....which is my favorite verse in the whole Bible; it says:
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is fading, but a woman (girl) who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."

Fear=respect=honor

What matters to God and should matter to you- is that your relationship with God comes first. The more you seek to live a life that honors him and find your identity in Him, the less the other things will matter.

So today- put some energy into your relationship with God and see your true beauty come to life from the inside out.

Lord, We Thank you for what we learn in your Word and ask that you help us to see ourselves the way you see us. You created us and think that we are beautiful. You desire to be in relationship with us. Help us to walk closely with you and learn who we are in you. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Real World, Real Faith Series - Question #1

Question Number One "IS GOD REAL OR WAS HE MADE UP IN ORDER TO HIDE US FROM THE TRUTH?" This is a great question. I had to think and pray on my response for a few days.  Quick answer: I think He is real. I personally know that deep within my heart.  Middle length answer: I think He is real...personal experience...but I can totally see that how God is incorrectly portrayed can cause people to lack trust in Him, in faith and in Christianity as a whole. You are not alone in this question.  Long answer: I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I had the Bible through by the time I was 12ish. I knew the dos and don'ts of being a Christian...but it wasn't until I was 16- that all of that knowledge became real. Stories and rules do not make a Christian. It is a personal and real relationship with Christ. At 16, Christ became real to me. He was no longer a warm and fuzzy story but a real presence in my life. So...I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope and pray that ...

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday  What are you thankful for today? How have you seen the love and wonderful deeds of our Lord?  Psalm 107:21-22 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love     and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings     and tell of his works with songs of joy.
