Lamentations 3:22-23  "Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As your prepare for the new year, know that it is a gift from God. You have been given this life to live. How will you live it? 

Wrapping Up 2019 As the year of 2019 wraps up, take some time to reflect on the year. If you are the journalling type, write down the highs and lows of the year. How have you seen God at work in your life? Are there things you are still waiting on? The highs and lows of our stories are best understood when we look at them in light of the truth that we are part of a bigger story. You are a part of a bigger story- the story of God. I wonder where this story will take us in 2020? The Prayer: Lord, thank you for your faithfulness in 2019. You have been present with me in the highs and the lows of this year. Help me to continue to trust you with all of my life and all of my story. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Advent Day Twenty Four (Christmas Eve) He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end. Luke 1:33 When will Jesus' kingdom end? How long is forever? Try to describe it. Read Luke 1:26-38. This passage tells us that "nothing is impossible with God." Advent Day Twenty Three But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John." Luke 1:13 ESV Zechariah and Elizabeth were going to have a special baby. What did the angel to the to name him?  What are the first words the angel told Zechariah? Advent Day Twenty Two Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding in on. donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:6 Can you think of where in the New Testament this Old Testament prophecy was fulfilled? Advent Day Twenty Then Jesus came near and said to them "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Matthew 28:18 Who has all authority over heaven and earth?  What is authority?  Who gave Jesus authority? What does it mean that He has authority "in heaven and on earth"? Happy Advent! Advent Day Nineteen And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah: because out of you will come a leader who will shepherd My people of Israel. Matthew 2:6 What is the shepherd's job? What does it mean for a leader to "shepherd" God's people? Why do you think we are told Jesus came from a small, out of the way place? Happy Advent! Advent Day Eighteen The bow of war will be removed, and He will proclaim peace to the nations. Zechariah 9:10 Who will proclaim peace to the nations?  What does it mean to proclaim something? Advent Day Seventeen I will sing about the Lord's faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth. Psalm 89:1 How long can we sing about the Lord's faithful love?  To whom is the Lord's faithful love proclaimed? Advent Day Fifteen For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are , yet without sin. Advent Day Fourteen These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 Where can you store up God's words?  When should we talk about God's words?  What does it look like to do this in all the way the scriptures tells us?  Happy Advent! Advent Day Twelve But the Messiah has appeared, high priest of the good things that have come.  Hebrews 9:11 Who has appeared? What good things have come? What good things are still to come? List some "good things" in your life and thank God for those good things.  Keep Thinking Pink, LMW 

Advent Day Eleven He entered the most holy place once for all, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.  Hebrews 9:12 Who entered the most holy place once and for all? What payment is required for sin?  What doe sit mean that Christ entered the holy place "once for all"?  Thank the Lord today for redeeming you with his own life.  Keep Thinking Pink, LMW

Advent Day Ten Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us at the proper time. Hebrews 4:16 How should we approach the throne of grace? Why do we approach the throne of grace? Why do we need mercy and grace? Thank the Lord today for his mercy and grace! Keep Thinking Pink, LMW

Advent Day Nine  Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, its all your soul, and with all your strength.  Deuteronomy 6:4-5 What does it mean to love the Lord "with all your strength"?  Keep Thinking Pink, LMW 

Advent Day Eight All the prophets testify about Him that through His name everyone who believes in Him will receive forgiveness of sins. Acts 10:43 Who did the prophets testify about? Who receives forgiveness of sins? Scripture says "all the prophets" testified about Jesus. Why all? Why not just some? Do you talk about Jesus and tell of the great things he has done? Advent Day Seven The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. Luke 4:18-19 What is a captive? In your own words... Why did God send Jesus? Who are the captives? How does Jesus set them free? How do you need to experience freedom in your life? Jesus came so that you could have freedom in Him. Advent Day Six Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16 Who is the Messiah? What is he "message about the Messiah"? What does it mean to let the gospel "dwell richly among you"? The good news of Jesus should be talked about, sung about and taught about. How much "Good News" is in your life? Keep Thinking Pink, LMW

Advent Day Five  The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 Who is "the Word" we're reading about in this verse? What doe sit mean that "the Word became flesh"?  Why did Jesus become human? 

Advent Day Four He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8 NIV What are the three things that God requires of us? What are some ways that you can walk humbly with God?

Advent Day Three We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished Him for the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6. What does it mean to go "astray"? What is iniquity? Why does it matter that Jesus was punished for our iniquities?

Advent Day Two For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the might God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV Who is the child in this verse is talking about? What are some of the names of the prophet Isaiah and Jesus be called? Why is it important that Jesus' birth was prophesied hundreds of years before He was born?

Advent Day One Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15 3 simple questions that are powerful if we fully embrace the answers. Why did Jesus come into the world? Who is a sinner? Why can Jesus save sinners? He came for you and for me...we are the sinners and he can save us because he was the perfect sacrifice.
