Throw Back Thursday

Throw Back Thursday Think of a time in your life when you felt extra close to God? What do you remember about that time? Is it a location, a church, a group of people, an event in your life? Were you doing any daily disciplines that aided in you feeling close to God? These disciplines may include Bible study, prayer, fasting, worshiping, serving others.  We all go through seasons in our lives where we sometimes feel extra close to God, like He is as close as our next breath. And then there are seasons when we get busy and He feels distant.  In Revelation 2, starting in verse 4...There are some words of wisdom for us today.  4  Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5  Consider how far you have fallen! Repent  and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand  from its place. Rev 2:4-5 NIV "Repent and do the things you did at first." What are those things you did when you love for

I Wanna Know What Love Is!

Yesterday was my mom's birthday. She went to heaven a few years ago and her birthday is always hard for me. I knew it would be a hard day. I tried to stay busy with back to back meetings, the gym, cooking dinner and catching up on blogging and social media posts for work and Think Pink. I was listening to my favorite 80's music - trying to keep myself positive.  I was attempting to avoid tears and that didn't work. Around 8pm, I found myself listening to "I Wanna Know What Love Is" by Foreigner and I received a text from a dear friend:  “Mommy, let’s not forget to pray for Pastor LM. She is our Pastor and she is very important. She teaches us about God.” Do you want to know what love is? For me...It is the gift of friendship, the sweet prayers of a child and the many ways that God smiles down on me everyday, especially on tough days.  How are you experiencing love in your life? And how are you showing it to others?  I pray that you experience love in a new

Loving yourself!

How do you show love and care for yourself? This evening I prepared a healthy meal for myself as a way to show myself some love. I could have used a plain white dish or a paper plate but I chose to use this red heart plate as a reminder that taking care of body is loving it. Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. 3  John 1:2 ESV Here are some more verses about taking care of your body. Have a great week and keep thinking PINK, <><  LMW

What do you love?

I have been watching the Hallmark Channel series “When Calls the Heart.” It is a wonderful show. It tugs at my heart strings in almost every episode. On the season four episode I wanted this evening, I realized why I relate to this show so much. One of the main characters is Elizabeth Thatcher, a teacher. She knows that she is called to teach and make a difference in the lives of the children in her town. It’s a beautiful thing to love what you are called to do. I know and love my calling: sometimes it is hard and frustrating BUT so many times my heart smiles. Today was a perfect example. During the creative arts hour at church, our children worked on a video of the Lord's Prayer. My heart was full and my cup overflowed with joy. I truly love working with children and teaching them about God’s love. How has God made you uniquely gifted to make a difference in this world? What do you enjoy? How are you sharing God’s love with others? I pray that you explore your calling and fall i
