Focusing Your Mind Day 7

Focusing your mind... Proverbs 23:17  – Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the Lord all the day. Who in your life are you envious of? Are they living a godly life? Why would someone want to envy someone living a sinful life? What does it mean to fear the Lord? Do you respect the Lord? How do you show that?  These are important questions to ask while reflecting on this verse and evaluating your mind. 

Focusing Your Mind Day 6

Focusing your mind... Romans 12:2  – Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. What does it mean to renew your mind? Can you do this on your own? Have you ever stopped yourself when you were thinking of something bad? I think that in order to renew the mind and remove the bad, you must replace it with good. You must fill your mind with that which draws you closer to God, not drives you apart from Him.  Today, spend time thinking about this verse and asking God to help you identify that which needs to be removed from your mind and what needs to go in its place.  This would be a great journalling activity. Write the verse listed above in your journal and be honest with yourself and God when answering the questions above.

Focusing Your Mind Day 5

Focusing your mind... Romans 8:5  – For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit. What are the things of the spirit that you need to set your minds on? If you are having trouble focusing on those things, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Set aside time each day to read your Bible, to pray and to listen to music that draws you closer to God. These things help you set your mind on on the things of the spirit.

Focusing your mind... Matthew 6:33  – But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. How are you seeking first the kingdom of God? What does that mean? Your mind controls your actions so think about the  kingdom of God so that you will pursue it in your actions.

Focus your mind... Colossians 3:2  – Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. What are some "things that are above" that you can focus on? Write them down. Throughout your day, take time to pause and think on these things. I also encourage you to memorize this verse and when you find yourself overwhelmed or stressed, say it to yourself.

Focusing Your Mind  For the next 29 days, we will focus on scripture that focuses our minds on the positive and not the negative. Our verse for today is 1 Peter 5:8 NLV Keep awake! Watch at all times. The devil is working against you. He is walking around like a hungry lion with his mouth open. He is looking for someone to eat. This verse may seem scary and harsh. The reality is not something we want to hear about but it can help us protect our hearts and minds. It is important to keep our minds awake and alert as to what is happening around us and to us. Focusing Your Mind For the next 30 days, we will focus on scripture that focuses our minds on the positive and not the negative. We will kick off with our main Think Pink Verse: Philippians 4:8 Finally, sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Write this verse down and put it on your mirror!
