Turn to Your Creator

Turn to your Creator! In the 17th chapter of Isaiah, we find a gloomy scene. So much has happened and it doesn't seem hopeful. BUT in verse 7, we see a shift... the people turn. "Then at last the people will look to their Creator and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel. They will no longer look to their idols for help or worship what their own hands have made." Isaiah 17:7-8 New Living Translation.  I must admit, there have been many times in my life where it took my world falling apart around me for me to turn my eyes back fully to the Lord. Does any of this hit home with you today? Can you relate? Have you turned your eyes away from your creator and tried to do it all on your own and your own way? There is hope. You just need to stop and turn. Fix your gaze on your creator who loves you unconditionally and wants what is best for you. Run into His arms. Bathe in his mercy and grace. Put your hands in His and begin to make something together. It is be beauti

1 Corinthians 10:13

1 Corinthians 10:13 13   No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. This  scripture  offers hope and  encouragement  to us. There will be temptations but we can resist them. God  doesn't  leave us without the strength or way to overcome the temptations.  The prayer: Lord, help me to realize when I am being tempted and to make smart decisions to avoid giving into temptations. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and the way you provide for me. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Finding Joy and Being Thankful

As a new week begins, I pray you find joy in the everyday things you must do. God is at work even in the little things that may seem insignificant. God is at work in you. It is easy to let a day slip by without seeing His handiwork or spending time reflecting on His goodness. Don’t let today go by without thanking the Lord for how He shows up- in the little and big ways. The Prayer: Lord, help me slow down enough to see you at work around me and to have a grateful heart. Life can be busy but may it never be too busy to spend time with you. In Jesus Name, Amen

God Math

God Math Does worry add anything to your life? Can it add one more year, or even one day? So if worrying adds nothing, but actually subtracts from your life, why would you worry about God’s care of you?  ( Luke 12:25-26, TPT) Worry versus hope is a constant battle and I know it isn’t just me. After I woke up feeling super anxious, I studied Luke 22:12-32.  I realized Jesus was not only speaking the Truth about the care we can count on from our Heavenly Father – just as He experienced.  He was also giving us a formula to help us overcome the insidious weapon of worry.   Worry not only doesn’t add anything to our lives, it actually takes away. Worry subtracts our ability to see the progress and the good things God has given. Worry gives us a mindset that allows us to dissect our lives into parts, and there is no quicker route to despair than to lose sight of the whole.  Worry feels like we are doing something. As we turn the situation or relationship over in our minds, t

Kindness Part Two

K is for Kindness and it started with our King... Titus 3:4-5 “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of his mercy.” Jesus gives us so many examples of kindness and is really the reason we should  pursue kindness in our lives.  Reflect on the ways you have received kindness from God- did you do anything to deserve his kindness? Most  likely, not.  If you think that someone must earn your kindness, you are wrong. It is quite the opposite. Show kindness even to those who have done nothing to deserve it. Show kindness to those who annoy you and may even be mean hateful to you. When you do that- you will be living like Christ. The prayer: Lord, help me to see how, when and who to be kind to today? And help me to remember your kindness and love all the days of my life so that I may humbly walk with you. In Jesus Name I pray,  Amen.  LMW

Kindness

K is for KINDNESS!  Colossians 3:12  Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion,  kindness , humility, gentleness and patience.  Galatians 5:22-23 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience,  kindness , goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things. As you can see from these verses God calls us to be kind. He even says that when you take in the Holy Spirit, it will produce kindness in you. Growing up I always heard the phrase “Kill ‘em with kindness” or  “You attract more bees with honey than vinegar”. The honey being kindness and the vinegar being the opposite. I don’t think people really realize how much more you can accomplish by simply being kind. Kindness does not mean be pushed around or sweep problems under the rug. It simply means approach everything with the love and joy of Christ. Think of a situation where you or someo
