Turn to Your Creator

Turn to your Creator!

In the 17th chapter of Isaiah, we find a gloomy scene. So much has happened and it doesn't seem hopeful. BUT in verse 7, we see a shift... the people turn.

"Then at last the people will look to their Creator and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel. They will no longer look to their idols for help or worship what their own hands have made." Isaiah 17:7-8 New Living Translation.

I must admit, there have been many times in my life where it took my world falling apart around me for me to turn my eyes back fully to the Lord.

Does any of this hit home with you today? Can you relate? Have you turned your eyes away from your creator and tried to do it all on your own and your own way? There is hope. You just need to stop and turn. Fix your gaze on your creator who loves you unconditionally and wants what is best for you. Run into His arms. Bathe in his mercy and grace. Put your hands in His and begin to make something together. It is be beautiful.

The prayer:
Dear God, my creator. I am turning to you and away from a life where I go at it alone. Thank you for lifting up my head, taking my hands in yours and leading the way to a life full of hope and peace. I trust you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Real World, Real Faith Series - Question #1

Question Number One "IS GOD REAL OR WAS HE MADE UP IN ORDER TO HIDE US FROM THE TRUTH?" This is a great question. I had to think and pray on my response for a few days.  Quick answer: I think He is real. I personally know that deep within my heart.  Middle length answer: I think He is real...personal experience...but I can totally see that how God is incorrectly portrayed can cause people to lack trust in Him, in faith and in Christianity as a whole. You are not alone in this question.  Long answer: I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I had the Bible through by the time I was 12ish. I knew the dos and don'ts of being a Christian...but it wasn't until I was 16- that all of that knowledge became real. Stories and rules do not make a Christian. It is a personal and real relationship with Christ. At 16, Christ became real to me. He was no longer a warm and fuzzy story but a real presence in my life. So...I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope and pray that ...

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday  What are you thankful for today? How have you seen the love and wonderful deeds of our Lord?  Psalm 107:21-22 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love     and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings     and tell of his works with songs of joy.
