Kindness

Choosing kindness is not always easy. There are people who will hurt our feelings and do things that makes us want to react in an unkind way. One of the keys to being able to choose kindness over being unkind in your reactions is to be spending time in prayer. Pray for those who who are hurtful to you and ask God to show you ways to show kindness to them and ask Him to give your the strength to not respond in a negative way. This doesn't mean that you allow people to walk all over you but rather than you are intentional in how you act and react. Remember, you cannot control other people, but you can practice control over yourself. With the help of the Holy Spirit, it will be easier to show kindness.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, Help me to see way in which I can show kindness to others. Put someone in my path today who needs your light and love. And if someone hurts my feelings or is unfair to me, slow me down and show me how to respond with kindness. Thank you for the Holy Spirit which helps me to have self control. I love you Lord. Amen.

Real World, Real Faith Series - Question #1

Question Number One "IS GOD REAL OR WAS HE MADE UP IN ORDER TO HIDE US FROM THE TRUTH?" This is a great question. I had to think and pray on my response for a few days.  Quick answer: I think He is real. I personally know that deep within my heart.  Middle length answer: I think He is real...personal experience...but I can totally see that how God is incorrectly portrayed can cause people to lack trust in Him, in faith and in Christianity as a whole. You are not alone in this question.  Long answer: I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I had the Bible through by the time I was 12ish. I knew the dos and don'ts of being a Christian...but it wasn't until I was 16- that all of that knowledge became real. Stories and rules do not make a Christian. It is a personal and real relationship with Christ. At 16, Christ became real to me. He was no longer a warm and fuzzy story but a real presence in my life. So...I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope and pray that ...

Thankful Thursday  What are you thankful for today? How have you seen the love and wonderful deeds of our Lord?  Psalm 107:21-22 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love     and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings     and tell of his works with songs of joy.
