Be on guard!

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.  
1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV

Sometimes we can let down our guard and it results in something good and yet other times, we can let down our guard and open ourselves up for the enemy to distract us. I pray that you can reach deep down in your heart to find the strength that God has placed there so that you may stand firm and be courageous...doing what is right and good. 

 The Prayer: Lord, help me to know when you lower my guard and when you be on guard. Help me to stand firm in my faith and to be strengthened by you. Give me courage to do what is right even when others do not and even when it is hard. Thank you Lord for all that you do for me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Real World, Real Faith Series - Question #1

 Question Number One "IS GOD REAL OR WAS HE MADE UP IN ORDER TO HIDE US FROM THE TRUTH?" This is a great question. I had to think and pray on my response for a few days.  Quick answer: I think He is real. I personally know that deep within my heart.  Middle length answer: I think He is real...personal experience...but I can totally see that how God is incorrectly portrayed can cause people to lack trust in Him, in faith and in Christianity as a whole. You are not alone in this question.  Long answer: I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I had the Bible through by the time I was 12ish. I knew the dos and don'ts of being a Christian...but it wasn't until I was 16- that all of that knowledge became real. Stories and rules do not make a Christian. It is a personal and real relationship with Christ. At 16, Christ became real to me. He was no longer a warm and fuzzy story but a real presence in my life. So...I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope and pray that ...

Thankful Thursday  What are you thankful for today?
