What is Lent?
The early Christians observed with great devotion the days of our Lord's passion and resurrection, and it became the custom of the Church that before the Easter celebration there should be a forty–day season of spiritual preparation.
Many people will give something up for Lent. We encourage you to practice Lent in the best way that helps you grow in your relationship with the Lord. As you grow in your relationship with the Lord, you will also grow in your relationship with others.
During this season, we want to challenge ourselves to try these practices. We will highlight a different practice each day.
Give up harsh words: use generous ones.
