Fruit of the Spirit- LOVE

The fruit of the spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Galatians 5:22-23

How are you loving others today? I don't want to miss an important opportunity to discuss LOVE during this powerful time in history. We have seen how a lack of love has greatly caused harmed to people of color. I challenge you to take a good look at your heart and your actions. Do you treat all people with the same kind of love? The kind of love that God has shown you? The kind of love that God continues to show you. Walking in the Spirit means choosing LOVE each and every day. It requires intentionality, prayer and humility to put others above yourself.

I encourage you to journal or write a prayer of repentance. Recently, I posted this historic confession and I pray it will be helpful to you as your pray and search your heart. <>< LMW

Merciful God,
we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart.
We have failed to be an obedient church.
We have not done your will,
we have broken your law,
we have rebelled against your love,
we have not loved our neighbors,
and we have not heard the cry of the needy.
Forgive us, we pray.
Free us for joyful obedience,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Real World, Real Faith Series - Question #1

Question Number One "IS GOD REAL OR WAS HE MADE UP IN ORDER TO HIDE US FROM THE TRUTH?" This is a great question. I had to think and pray on my response for a few days.  Quick answer: I think He is real. I personally know that deep within my heart.  Middle length answer: I think He is real...personal experience...but I can totally see that how God is incorrectly portrayed can cause people to lack trust in Him, in faith and in Christianity as a whole. You are not alone in this question.  Long answer: I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I had the Bible through by the time I was 12ish. I knew the dos and don'ts of being a Christian...but it wasn't until I was 16- that all of that knowledge became real. Stories and rules do not make a Christian. It is a personal and real relationship with Christ. At 16, Christ became real to me. He was no longer a warm and fuzzy story but a real presence in my life. So...I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope and pray that ...

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday  What are you thankful for today? How have you seen the love and wonderful deeds of our Lord?  Psalm 107:21-22 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love     and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice thank offerings     and tell of his works with songs of joy.
